There is no single great source for locating a property to rent. Most landlords and property managers put a "FOR RENT" sign on the property. This is the cheapest thing we can do. The following are places you can go to find "Rental Leads":

The classified ads of the Salt Lake Tribune or the Deseret News. The newspapers are separate but their clasified ads are the same.

This web site has a classified ad section that is free to landords advertising rental units. I expect this site to become a tremendous resource for both landlords and renters.

This rental company specializes in selling rental information to renters. "Rental Express" collects rental information free of charge from landlords, organizes a brief amount of data, and posts it on their web-site. They probably have the biggest list of rental properties in the state. Landlords are not committed to calling and cancelling when rented however. Consequently, they struggle to maintain accuracy and detail. Check it out.
